Pacific Peoples’ Partnership presents:
One Wave Gathering.
Pacific Peoples’ Partnership is proud to announce the eleventh annual One Wave Gathering, an international Pacific Indigenous arts celebration on Lekwungen territory. One Wave has celebrated international Pacific community, arts and culture in Victoria, British Columbia since 2008. This gathering is a unique opportunity for communities to meaningfully engage with local and international Indigenous artists, youth and culture, fostering an environment of solidarity and expression amongst Pacific peoples. Let’s come together in celebration of Pacific Indigenous communities, and in promoting the health of our shared ocean ecosystems. Also check out our Facebook page here!

September 1st — One Wave Exhibition
This year our opening ceremony will take place on September 1st at MediaNet’s Flux Gallery in the form of an artistic exhibition. Join us inhonouring the legacy of the incredible gathering that took place last year for One Wave’s 10th anniversary. The gallery will feature video works and other media installations celebrating the historic One Wave Gathering anniversary as well as Pacific culture and history.
Also at the gallery will be screenings of the Vaka-Taumako Project We, the Voyagers, (Image left) followed by a discussion of the project with group representatives. Through this exhibition we hope to foster a space that welcomes dialogue, as well as celebrates Pacific culture. After the opening of the exhibition, the gallery space will be open from 12pm-5pm, Tuesday-Saturday, until September 22nd.
September 15th—One Wave Gathering
Following the media exhibition will be our One Wave Gathering celebrating pacific arts and culture at Centennial Square. A day full of Indigenous presentations, Pacific art and art vendors, NGO partners, and food centered around navigating our shared waters of the Pacific. On Saturday September 15th from 12pm-5pm. Visitors are welcome to explore interactive displays, educational activities and cultural presentations.
Pacific Peoples’ Partnership is Canada’s only non-profit organization dedicated to the South Pacific. For over forty years, Pacific Peoples’ Partnership has acted in solidarity with peoples of the North and South Pacific to promote their aspirations for peace, justice, health, and environmental sustainability.
