Coastal Perspectives

A One Night Stand Art Exhibition

Demitasse (corner of Johnson and Blanchard)
Thursday, August 21st
7:30 -11pm
By Donation

The first event of the One Wave Festival by Pacific Peoples’ Partnership showcased a collaboration of hand-picked local artists working in a variety of media. The intimate Demitasse Café provided a cozy venue for artists and patrons to mingle and celebrate the many cultures and sub-cultures of Coastal BC. First Nations art, including live traditional drum making demonstrations by Jorge Lewis of the Snuneymuxw First Nation combined with local graffiti artists and tattoo artists who paint vibrant designs on skate and surf board decks. There were elaborate hand made leather masks from the Cowichan Valley, surf infused music, fine local wines and delicious delicacies from surrounding shores made this event a feast for the senses.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through BC150 Years, a
Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts initiative.
